I went down to the lake for the weekend to do more construction on the house we are moving into in February... and to visit my grandparents, Steve and Virginia AKA Aadaa and Minnie [Nicknames I gave them when I was little... they kinda stuck] and my cousin[s].

When I went down to visit, only Minnie and Jessica [Cousin:10] were there and they were getting ready to head-out. In the end, I got dragged along to go out to eat and shopping.

In-vehicle-conversation[Summary]:

Minnie started telling me about how my cousin Brandon wants to move in with his biological father, who happens to be a homosexual, who contacted him after abandoning him 15 years ago.

I asked Minnie what she thought about the whole ordeal. She is one of the people who believe homosexuality is wrong. She told me that she thought is was a sinful enviorment and that she didn't think Brandon needed to live with his father and his father's partner.

She was so strongly against it, that I asked, "What if one of your grandchildren were gay? Would you not except them?" She replied by saying, "I am a human being. I don't think I would not be able to love them, but I would not support them and their partner would not be allowed over when, or if, they came over".

"Thats cruel..." I stated, eyes downcast.

"How is that crue-... Are you trying to tell me something?"

Momentary pause, "No... its just cruel... So are you one of the people who voted 'YES' on Proposition 8 then?"

"Was that on the last ballet?"

"I don't know... it was the one on Gay Marriage."

"I don't remember, but I would have voted against gay marriage. Marriage is to procreate. Between the same sex it is impossible and sinful."
